I can't honestly recommend running Steam and Nexus mods at the aforementioned fourth dimension however it is possible, I tin not guaranteee you won't have issues and as such recommend y'all exercise a clean install of Skyrim if at all possible (just if not don't worry).
#2.
In file explorer get to: Your PC, where skyrim is installed \Steam\steamapps\common and create a new folder called "Skyrim special edition mods" (SSE).
And create a shortcut to it and place it on your desktop ("send to desktop" pick when right clicking on the "SSE mods" folder), this is where all modding and editing of mods will be done.
I personally have mine backed up to One Bulldoze and yours can be backed up to I Drive / Drib Box past use of symbolic linking - I'd recommend Link Beat Extension [schinagl.priv.at] nevertheless I won't go into the detail or process for that.
Open up this new binder and create a second new binder inside it called "NMM Stored Mods", this is where the mods we download from the Nexus will exist stored.
#3.
Go to: http://world wide web.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/topalltime/ and bookmark it, this is the top endorsed mods of all time folio on the Nexus and where you'll want to kickoff.
#4.
Install the Nexus Modern Director: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/modmanager/ to your Skyrim special edition mods binder we created earlier.
During installation if you take the option to set the stored location for Nexus Mod Director's (NMM) "modernistic directory" as the "NMM Stored Mods" folder nosotros created earlier, if non once information technology's installed go to settings in NMM and you can manually fix that as it'south mod directory folder.
#5.

Install FNIS (Fores New Idles in Skyrim): http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3038/? to your Skyrim special edition mods folder we created earlier.
Once FNIS is installed refer to the modern writer's documentation page and run the tool once and launch upwards Skyrim SE to confirm information technology'southward able to be launched.
#8.
Install NifSkope (to easily preview/edit meshes from mods on the wing): http://niftools.sourceforge.cyberspace/wiki/NifSkope/Documentation_And_Tutorials to your Skyrim special edition mods folder nosotros created earlier.

From the top endorsed mods of all times page (you booked that from the getting started department, didn't you lot?) choose the "Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch" (http://world wide web.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/266/?).

Read over the clarification if you're so inclined and and then head to the "files" section for it, from there click on the big greenish "download with manager" button and the download will open in Nexus Mod Manager (NMM).
#iii.
While you're waiting for it to download click on the "download manager" section in NMM and in the upper right there's a piffling pin, click that and have it set up to "pinned" (pin pointing down).
#4.
Once it's downloaded it'll appear in the "mods" section of NMM (default window that'south opened when launching NMM). Right click on and choose "Install and Activate".
You'll meet the mod activation queue popular up and watch how fast it installs, depending on the mod you may be prompted to confirm overwrites or even navigate through the mod'southward own installation options and card.

Congratz!
Your mod is now installed, you've downloaded and installed your mod then ran Loot and created a bashed patch - go on in mind it's always a good idea to launch Skyrim after each mod y'all install this manner to ostend everything was done correctly - and avert any lost play time when you're only sitting down to play SSE and not mod it.
More updates to this guide are to come! If you lot accept any suggestions mail them below and, stay tuned!
